Trend forecasting with Lauren Conrad

It's so exciting to see Holiday lines emerging!  With NYFW kicking off, I'm sure our forecast for the chillier months will come into fruition a bit more developed.  However, certain things I've glommed onto have me excited!  Lauren Conrad just released a preview of her Holiday lookbook, and here's what I've gathered...

The whole idea is to mix the feminine with the edgy.  It's not enough to do one or the other well.  The art is in the gentle clash.  This dress is just enough pretty, floaty, and feminine, and equal parts dark, cloudy, and even kind of spooky seeming!

Along with mixing feminine and edgy, we are also mixing neutrals that would have always stayed separate in the past!  Navy and black, friends.  Navy and black.  It emits a certain daring air to your outfit.  "Why yes, I do have on navy with black."  To help pull it off, use more basic pieces with easy shapes.  Here, we have a looser blouse and a legging.  Both are items that have been in our closet rotation for a while now, but it's the color combo that's so shocking.  The top and leggings alone are feminine, and the colors make it edgy.  P.S. Here's a great chance to bust our your statement necklaces!

This is so 70's glam to me.  Lauren takes a sweet little cap-sleeved minidress and amps up the appeal with a glittering gold that's ruched in the waist.  It's all the sultriness of Farrah Fawcett packed into a sweet little silhouette.  LOVE it.  Keep wearing it into the super cold months with opaque black tights and black pumps to make those legs miles long.

The peplum shape is SO having a moment right now.  It works on so many different body types, and I think that's why it's not going anywhere.  Here, the model is styled so as to imitate a peplum shape.  The jacket is cropped and fitted at the waist.  Her blouse underneath is loose and fans out when cinched.  Very Important Info:  Make sure your bottoms are snug and straight to pull it off.  With this look, you're focusing your emphasis, all the volume, in the middle.  Don't let flare legs compete!

Overall, I think the whole lineup is pretty fantastic!  Check the rest out here.

Happy styling, friends!
