Peanut Butter Fudge Krispies!!!

Today was such a great day!  One of the perks of my job is that I can split up my week and take a day off in the middle.  Today was a day off!  I headed to my grandparents' because I needed to borrow a typewriter (wedding project post to come!).  In her typical fashion, my grandma made a seriously delicious dinner, and as we sat around the table after our meal, we reminisced about the dessert we used to make together when I was younger.  Deciding that there's no time like the present, we dug out the recipe, hit the grocery store, and whipped up a batch of delicious sentimentality.

Peanut Butter Fudge Krispies:

1 cup butterscotch morsels
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 cup semisweet chocolate morsels
1/2 cup confectioner's sugar
2 T butter
4 cups Rice Krispies cereal

Directions:
Mix together butterscotch and peanut butter and heat until melted.  Mix together with rice cereal.  Take one half of this mixture and cover the bottom of an 8" baking pan.  Put in fridge to cool.  To make the fudge mixture, mix together chocolate, butter, confectioner's sugar and 1 T water and heat until melted.  Smooth over rice krispies layer.  Add remaining krispies mixture, spreading across fudge.  Keep refrigerated.  (Or, if you're us, eat it warm in a bowl!)

Pure deliciousness!

  1. That is so sweet, there's nothing better than a good ol family recipe.
I need to see what you're gonna do with that typewriter though!
