NYC Day 1!!!

Mike and I arrived in NYC yesterday, and it was a whirlwind of a day!  Our plane got in just around noon, and from then on we were on the GO.  We dropped off our things at his sister Erin's place and stopped momentarily to shake off the stifling heat.  We headed out to Times Square where we went into what I believe to be the most chaotic Forever21 in the entire world (it's probably the biggest).  We ate at  John's Pizzeria, and I had the tastiest Bruschetta ever!  After a close encounter with a very angry mommy at the movie theater, we headed out to Union Square and explored a bit.  Saw a street entertainer whose main schtick was to jump over a crowd of people.  It's impressive, but that it took him about 20 minutes to "warm up the crowd" before the trick kind of killed it.... anyhow....

Here's our first sight of NYC!

And, here's John's Pizza. It's actually built in an old church, so there's cool stained glass accents and the lighting is low and sacred. Sacred pizza.

All in a Day's Work

This past week I've had the great experience of working with a new client, Kaili.  When she contacted me last week, I knew that we'd be able to really accomplish lots!  With a new job on the way and a set focus, we got right to work.  After rooting through her closet and clearing out more than many women I know would be comfortable with, we hit the stores yesterday and got her a brand new wardrobe.  We had a checklist along with us to keep us on track (because there are so many pretty things at Banana Republic and Ann Taylor).  The outcome?  31 new pieces, most of which mix and match to make at least 100 different outfits.  When she got home, she laid it all out in one spot, and it's hard to believe that all of this was picked up on the SAME DAY.

Some wonderful new statement pieces, most of which from Charming Charlie:

Shoes, shoes, shoes!  From Aldo, Ann Taylor, and WHBM:

Ooh, baby, baby!

Yesterday was a beautiful day!  The temperature was perfect, the sun was shining, and I had lunch in the beautiful garden of Meson Sabika celebrating my cousins' upcoming baby!  Since we don't know if it's a boy or a girl (secrets are fun!), I decided to go pink AND blue.

And.... as usual... Anya was part of the photos. Photobucket

The reason I could get away with such contrasting colors (other than using the colorblock trend as my excuse) is that if you look really closely at the skirt, you'll see almost the exact same bright pink. Even if the outfit doesn't look matchy-matchy, I was definitely using colors that matched. It's a fun trick for looking punchy without being clashy.

Happy Monday, loves!  It's going to be a wonderful week.
